Lil' Kickers - Lesson 1

Colin has started indoor soccer and is loving it. It is kind of hard to get pictures but I will keep trying! Our first lesson went well until the very end. At the end of each lesson they give the kids a stamp on their hands to tell them that they did a good job . . . well this didn't go over well with Colin. He went from happy and giggling to scared and crying in the amount of time it takes you to snap your fingers! We have had a few talks about it is not nice to write on yourself or anyone else and well, I guess he listened to me and took it to heart! Poor little guy, and poor Coach Toby who thought he had done something to Colin. We will have to look for a notebook for Colin to put his stamps in and hopefully he will like that!

Colin is, even after the stamp fiasco, excited about going back so that he can wear his uniform that we got him!

Bass Pro with Dylan

After Darwin the Dinosaur Michelle and I decided to take the boys for something they would really enjoy . . . playing on the boats at Bass Pro! Both boys really enjoyed playing all of the boats and ATV's!

Darwin the Dinosaur

Thanks to mom2momkc I won 4 tickets to go see Darwin the Dinosaur at the Lied Center in Lawrence. Rich and I talked and decided that maybe Emma wasn't old enough for it so I invited my friend Michelle and her son Dylan to go with us. Colin really likes Dylan because he is in school and "he teaches me stuff" as he tells me.

Michelle came down to our house and I drove all of us to Lawrence, thank you to Rich for changing out the car seats so that Dylan didn't have to sit in Emma's pink one!

Well, we watched and it was neat, but neither Colin or Dylan were really into it. The show is in completely darkness except for the dinosaurs which are big puppets that are carried around by actors. The puppets are actually just outlines of lights (like rope lights in the shape of dinosaurs). Colin made it about 10 minutes before asking if we could go and Dylan made it about 30 minutes. Thankfully it was only an hour show because shortly after Colin asked me if we could go he started doing the potty dance and we were in the middle section in the middle of the row!

Needless to say they were more interested with the birds out front of the Lied Center than the show!

Now that a little time has passed from the show Colin does talk about it and the dinosaurs. He remembers that the green dinosaur was the good one and the red one was the bad one, but that is really about all that he got out of it!

Deanna Rose Farmstead

We tried going to the Deanna Rose Farmstead again today and we actually got to see more than just the playground equipment! We still ended up at the playground equipment but this time we actually looked at some of the animals that they had there as well.

Leave the door open

Emma has been sleeping in her toddler bed for a while and she always says "shut the door" after we are done tucking her in. Well, tonight she surprised me and said "leave door open" it was so cute. She is really starting to grow up and knows how to tell you exactly what she wants!

I took Colin to the Pumpkin Patch and he had a great time! He loved all of the different activities that there were to do.
