Jake's Birthday

Colin and Emma had a great time at Jake's 1st birthday party! It was at Monkey Bizness, which if you have never been there you should try it (at least if you have small children) it is great! They have several different inflatable bounce houses and slides and such that are indoors!! Both kids had a blast. Rich and Colin tried climbing the rock wall and they were racing through the obstacle course (Colin won)! They had a small play area for kids under 3 that Emma just loved! Rich even took Emma down the big slides a couple of times! We had the best time! I think both kids want to go back when they can play longer!

Tree Hugger

Colin takes after his mommy and loves to hug the trees in the yard. He just ran up to the tree and said "I love you tree" and gave it a big hug!

Hammer Time

Thanks to Rich trying to get Colin and Emma to say "stop hammer time" the other day, now Emma is running around hitting everything she comes across (her brother included) with her princess wand saying "hammer time".

Now if Rich tries to get them to dance like MC Hammer I am going to have to get out the camcorder for that!!

Emma is going back and forth between yelling "hammer time" and "run, fire in the hole". Oddly unlike some of the other things that she says these are very clear and easy to understand!!

Disney's "A Christmas Carol" Train

Today I took the kids to see Disney's "A Christmas Carol" train that was in Kansas City for one day. The kids were a little upset that the train didn't move and all we got to do was walk through it and basically it was a bunch of TV screens showing how the movie was made. They were excited to see the train but they were just as excited to go to the bread store afterwards to get more cinnamon bread and donuts!

Yay! Michelle's House!

We spent the day with Michelle and her kids, Dylan and Darcy, at their house north of Smithville. They have a beautiful new house and a wonderfully large yard for the kids to play in! Colin and Emma had so much fun playing there with Dylan and Darcy and all of their toys! Dylan had a gator that Colin (and Emma) were just in love with! We played on bikes and with the gator and on the swing set and even in the pool! It was a little cold for the pool but we tried to make the best of it! It wasn't bad once you got in and got use to it, but until then it was pretty shocking! Even several hours after we left and were home getting ready for bed Emma was still saying "Darcy nap" because that is what she was doing when we left and Colin wants to go back and play all day! It was a great day for the kids and for me!

2 Parks and a Krispy Kreme

Colin and Emma played at two different parks today and had a great time! They love the park so much and never want to leave when it is time! They also had their first experience of having donuts at Krispy Kreme, who knew that they gave sample donuts! I ordered 1 glazed for each kid and a cinnamon roll for me, then they gave us 2 sample glazed donuts. Lets just say my kids were not all that impressed with them (nor was I) because between the three of us we ate a total of 1 1/2 donuts. But we did drink both of our chocolate milks! I think we will stick to the donuts at Hy-Vee from now on they may not be hot, but they taste better!
