Visitors

Today Keri and her sister Kara came over along with Keri's son Jake. (Okay so Keri was delivering Avon that I bought and taking home with her some of Colin's clothes that he had out grown.) At first Colin wasn't so thrilled about the idea of Jake coming over, but eventually warmed up to the idea. Surprisingly Emma was the first to warm up to Jake and want to play with him. She was even okay sharing her toys with him! I had a great time catching up with Keri and Kara and the kids had a great time playing with Jake. When they left Colin and Emma cried for about 30 minutes because they didn't want that baby to leave!

Best Friend

"Come on best friend, lets go dance!" This is what I keep hearing from Colin! He is so cute he keeps saying this to Emma and asking her for group hugs! She tells him "no" then says "I wuv you". I think I have the best kids around!!

Thank you Nana for coming down for dinner! The kids loved having you! And of course they will be excited to see you tomorrow as well!

Deanna Rose in 10 minutes!

Today I had several errands to run with the kids with me. While we were downtown (Kansas City) the kids saw a park and wanted to stop so we stopped and played for about 10 minutes before we got back to our errands. Colin loved the half cars and boat that where there as well as the animals that were sticking up from the ground!


After running a few more errands we made our way back to Overland Park and stopped at Deanna Rose and we were in and out in 10 minutes. The kids liked playing there, but just weren't really all that interested in seeing the animals. Colin told me next time he wanted to look at the animals but not today. Poor little guy! I think both were just to tired after Miss Emma decided it would be good to get up at 5:30 this morning!

So sad

Colin and Emma we so sad to see Pa Rick leave today. Colin cried for quite some time about Pa Rick leaving and about Uncle Alex's car leaving. He was visibly sad all day as well, poor little guy just doesn't do well with change.

Pictures

Colin and Emma got their pictures taken today at Portrait Innovations. I have to say it is an experience that we will probably not do again. I had a 10:30 appointment so we were there a little early (like I usually am) and well 10:30 came and went! They were spending about 1/2 hour or more with each group of people and somewhere around 11:30 they got to us. They must have decided to stop with the customer service at that point because they spent a whole whopping 10 minutes with us and then they were trying to push us out the door. They may have gotten some good pictures, but there were a lot that were not so good as well. I don't know why I bothered to make an appointment when there were people that came in after 10:30 that went before we did. Even Colin started asking if we could just go somewhere else. We have a pictures and that will probably be the last time that we go there!

I want to move

Colin wants to move to a new house with a bigger garage so that Pa Rick has a place to put his trailer! He does not want Pa Rick to go home! I am so glad that he has enjoyed Pa Rick's visit this time! It makes things so much better when he enjoys them! I hope that he won't be to heart broken when Pa Rick has to go back home!

Nap time

Yes, it still happens at our house!! It has been going pretty well considering that Rich has been home all week and that his dad is here visiting. Actually Colin is much better at it than Emma is! I guess it doesn't really surprise me though because Colin is more easy going than Emma, she seems to be a little higher maintenance.

Colin's new favorite thing is "group hug"! He loves to yell it out and come running! He expects everyone to participate as well! Maybe he will want to do a group hug with Emma tomorrow while they are getting their pictures taken!

Doctor Appointments

Colin and Emma had their 4 year and 2 year checkups today. Both kids are normal and doing great! Emma needs to eat a little more because she is a little under weight, but that is probably due to her always chasing after Colin! So we will make sure that there is always something for Emma to eat so that she can do a little better on her weight at her next appointment.

I tried taking the kids to a yard sale today, it looked to be promising . . . sigh . . . they had lots of toys but they hadn't even bothered to clean any of them before they put them out. I really should just let my mom stick to the yard sales because she is much better and finding stuff than I am. But the kids were good and didn't complain when I said we were leaving without getting anything.

Tomorrow I may take them to the park if it isn't to hot since we have another day where we can go wherever we want with the truck!

Playing outside

Today we played at the Great Mall and at a park because it was really nice out. The kids had a great time and Colin got to have his first experience using a Port-a-Potty!

Playing in the rain

Today Colin and Emma played in the rain for the first time (at least that I know of) and they loved it once they got use to it. At first I let them have their umbrellas and they played that way for a while then they put them up and just played and got wet! They figured out that they wouldn't melt!!! Colin said it was just like a shower but without soap! They had such a great time between playing and watching Pa Rick and Rich work on Rich's car! Hopefully they will both sleep well tonight!

Emma's First Haircut

I really was not looking forward to Emma having her first haircut. I just knew that she was going to be like her brother and scream and cry through the whole thing . . .big surprise she just sat there quietly and let Brenda cut her hair. She didn't move and didn't say a word! At least one of them likes to get their hair cut!

Emma at the fair

Nana and Pa brought Emma into the fair while Colin and I were there. She didn't ride any rides but she did walk around and enjoy looking. The noise didn't bother her so next year she should be able to ride the rides! We did find some bubbles and a fishing game in front of the hunting store that both kids enjoyed playing before we left.

I took Colin to the fair Saturday night and let him ride the kiddie rides and he loved it!!


He rode all of the kiddie rides once and some twice. It cost $30 he had a great time! Can't wait to take both Colin and Emma next year!
