Yummy Pizza

Tonight we had homemade pizza and calzones for dinner. Rich asked Emma if they were any good and she said "no, yummy!" At least she liked them because Colin wouldn't come near them! They were really good and we will probably have them again!

Christmas Tree

Nana and Pa brought Colin and Emma home this afternoon. Both kids had a great time at the farm! When they got home we had a surprised planned for them, we had the tree up and ready to be decorated! Both Colin and Emma loved helping to put the ornaments on the tree, although Emma just wanted to put them all on the same branch! We got it decorated and the star that they picked out put on top. Colin and Rich set up the train around the bottom of the tree while Emma took her bath so she was surprised when she got out!! The both loved helping and love to watch the train go around the tree!

Black Friday

Hehehe . . .somehow Rich said "yes, I will go to Toys 'R Us with you at midnight". Sucker!!! So I really didn't think it would be that bad, there wasn't really anything that great in the ad so I figured no big deal, we will go get the pink shopping cart for Miss Emma and maybe look around a little bit and be done. In and out in 30 to 40 minutes. Boy was I wrong!

First the parking lot was full, the access road was full, we parked almost at the very end of the access road and had to walk, well I say walk but really it was more like a small crawl because even being 30 minutes early we were still at the end of the line which was only a little bit up from where we parked the truck!

Now, most Toys R' Us stores are ruffly the same size, by the time that we got into the store (and there were still lots of people in line behind us) the line to pay (meaning these people had already got what they came for (and their carts were full) was wrapped all the way around the store. And not just the outside of the store, but up and down the aisles as well!

We got the pink shopping cart for Miss Emma along with 3 other toys and when we finally checked out and got back to the truck it was . . . 4:00 AM! Now I know why I always try and have almost all of our shopping done before Thanksgiving and I don't usually go to any Black Friday sales!

So after we got home we went to bed and slept until about 10:30 AM. Then it was such a nice day out (mid to upper 60's) that Rich put the lights up on the house that Colin had asked for. They are BRIGHT! I can see them from the end of the street! I am waiting for an airplane to try and land by them they are so bright! I wonder if any of our neighbors will complain!

Even though they are brighter than the streetlights on our street (seriously they light up our whole front yard, I can see into the street and across to the neighbor's yard when they are on at night) they look really good!!! Rich did such a great job!

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving with the kids and Nana and Pa, who came down with the baked beans and sweet potatoes! Rich called his mom and dad to wish them a happy Thanksgiving, and Colin and Emma tried to talk to them as well. Sometimes their shyness gets in the way and they are only ready to talk after the phone is hung up, so we may need to work on that a bit!

We did have a wonderful Thanksgiving with turkey (made by Rich), mashed potatoes, gravy, baked beans, sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese baked in the oven and pumpkin pie (made by Rich and the kids)! I put a little bit of everything on the kids plates and well, they ate the mashed potatoes and then Colin asked for pepperoni!

Both kids were good, although they were getting a little tired before lunch was even ready. Both kids also went home with Nana and Pa for the weekend so that they could play at the farm since it is supposed to be in the mid to upper 60's for Friday and Saturday!

(I have killed my laptop so until Rich is able to fix it I will not be able to post pictures :( I hope that he is able to get it working again soon!)

Last Lil' Kickers of the fall season

Today was Colin's last Lil' Kickers lesson of the fall season (the winter season starts next week). He had another great time! Coach Toby did tell him that it would be the last class that he was there. Colin wasn't to upset, but I don't think that he really understood when Coach Toby told him. He was a little upset when I repeated it in the truck. So I know it will probably upset him, but I will have to keep reminding him for the next week so that he will be prepared for next Tuesday when he has a new coach. Since it was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving there were lots of people missing, but they still had a great class! It was a little shorter than normal, but Colin had fun playing games! (I took some video of of his lesson, but I also killed my laptop today, so it may take me a while to get it up.)

Pirate Park

Today we walked to the pirate park and played for a very long time! Both kids had a blast on the swings and on the slides! Colin got more practice riding his bike and I notice more and more how he is ready for a bigger bike. I only hope that the weather is nice at Christmas time so that he will get to try out his new bike that will be under the tree!

It was nice enough today that we grilled outside for lunch, Colin and Emma had hamburgers and I fixed steak for Rich and I. Rich had worked from home today because he still isn't feeling very well. I hope that the ENT is able to 'fix' him so that he will be back to normal soon!!

Colin is getting so excited about Christmas, I don't know how he is going to be able to contain himself for a whole month! When I tucked him into bed tonight he asked me if Santa Clause was coming tonight! Poor little guy is going to have quite the wait on his little hands!

I got conned!

Well, I think I may have gotten conned by Rich and Colin! I have always said that I don't think we need lights on the outside of the house but Rich told me today that Colin has been asking for them. Hmmmm I don't think so . . . but I went with it anyway and we went to Home Depot to get some decorations for the house. Personally they are great to look at on other peoples houses, but it is a waste of my electric bill! But I gave in and we got 3 giant candy canes that light up and some ice cycle lights for the front of the house. We also got a new train to go around the bottom of the tree and a star for the top of the tree. Colin has really been concerned that we didn't have a star for the top of the tree, but now we do! It was rather difficult to get two toddlers to agree on one tree topper, but they finally did! I hope they will be happy with it once we finally put the tree up and put it on the top!

Yay Friday!

Another Friday is here!! I took Colin and Emma to Nana's house today so that they could go to the farm with her and Pa. We played in the garage until mommy got to cold, for being almost 60 today it was still pretty darn cold! Then they played inside until Pa got there.

After I got home I was able to do some Christmas shopping for Colin and Emma and I finally found an Eagles cheerleader outfit for Emma, yay!!! I also found a truck that turns into a robot for Colin, I think he will be so excited and love it! Colin talks about robots all of the time so I hope that he will love it when he opens it on Christmas morning!

I will miss the kids while they are gone this weekend, but I hope that they have a great time and I hope that Rich and I can get a lot accomplished this weekend. We hope to get started cleaning out the basement so that he can work on the bathroom next weekend since it is a long weekends! It's only been almost 5 years, maybe it is about time to get it finished!

Lil' Kickers - Lesson 6

Colin had another great time at soccer today!! Emma had fun playing as well. After we were back home today I asked Colin if he had fun and of course he said yes. I asked what his favorite part was, his answer "Toby." Then I asked him why Coach Toby was his favorite part of soccer, and he replayed "because he is a great teacher!" I am so glad that he is really liking soccer and is doing well following instructions from someone else! I hope that our next session of soccer will go as well since I found out that Coach Toby won't be coming back.

Riding the pony

Emma just loves riding the pony at Nana and Pa's, nope not a real pony one of those on that is on springs! It has taken Emma a while to warm up to the horse, but now she is just as good on it as Colin is!

Deer Hunting with Pa

Colin and Emma were both so excited to go to the farm with Rich and I. Not only were we both going up but they were going to get to go deer hunting with Daddy and Pa. So Pa ended up taking both Colin and Emma out in the truck with their cap shot guns to go look for deer while Daddy was out looking for deer on the other side of the farm. Neither Rich or Colin and Emma saw any deer, nor did the rest of Nodaway county since there really was not a very spectacular opening weekend to deer season this year. But Colin and Emma did enjoy going with Pa to look for deer while eating candy and drinking Sprite with him.

Lil' Kickers - Lesson 5

We got to soccer a little early today so the kids had time to color before playing around. It was another great practice! The played a scrimmage game today and Colin scored his first goal today!! He was so excited!!

Day at the park in Liberty

Okay, maybe it is just because I don't know all of the streets in Liberty, but it is much harder to find parks in Liberty than in Olathe and Overland Park! We have 2 parks within a mile of our home, but oh my gosh to try and find one in Liberty, well we ended out in the middle of the country to get to one! But the kids had a great time and I was able to talk to a mom there and find out where a couple of other parks were for the next time! As you can tell from Emma's hair it was very windy, but still a pretty nice day for the first part of November! We also had plenty of time to play at Nana's before she got off work so the kids had time to ride the trikes in the garage and be silly!
