Another week done

Yay! Another Friday!! Colin and Emma both got ready to go to Nana's for the weekend. Tomorrow they have a big party to go to so they needed nice outfits. Emma is going to wear her Easter dress that she hasn't got to wear yet since she has been teething and not so cooperative. Colin is going to wear one of his 3 dress shirts, I sent all of them with him so that he could pick.

As soon as we got to Nana's house they just played and played with the new kitchen that Nana got for them last weekend. They played with it for almost 2 hours before we ever got to go upstairs at Nana's!

I hope that they both sleep well for Nana tonight!

Sometimes too many hands are not helpful!

So we are trying to get ready to have a yard sale, but the kids are no help! Colin doens't want to have a yard sale not to mention he is throwing a fit about getting rid of anything! Every time he sees me put a toy in the box to get rid of he has a melt down. But mommmmyyyyyy that is my favorite, if we get rid of it it will make me sad . . .sniff sniff. Oh my gosh, give me a break kid, these were Emma's toys that are for an infant and neither of you have ever played with them! And no you will not shrink so that you can wear a size 12 month outfit again! I think I am going to have to finish while both kids are gone!!

It's just a beautiful day to play soccer

This is what Colin told me when he went outside today! We played and played and played. Emma had a very nice 3 1/2 hour nap today (yes I woke her up or she would have slept longer)!

This afternoon they kind of got tired of playing outside so they both played inside and danced to music, lets just say Colin is a little rhythmically challenged! But he had a good time!

Emma had dinner tonight in her new booster seat that Nana got her. I had to put a cookbook under it to make it a little higher, but she did really well with it! I was proud of her. I am thinking that we can maybe get rid of the highchair at the yard sale if she keeps doing that good!!!

Colin did get in trouble tonight, he wanted a popsicle and Rich told him he would have to wait. Well, he went and got one anyway and opened it and had most of it gone by the time we figured out where he was. He got sent to bed as soon as he finished it! And he has been asleep ever since then!

Emma was so tired tonight but just didn't want to go to bed, she just kept laying down on Rich and trying to sleep on him. But we finally got her to bed and I am hoping that she stays there for the night!

Visiting Shinn Fu

Today we went and visited Shinn Fu, where I use to work, and the kids were pretty good. Colin warmed up to people in about 2 minutes, Emma took a little longer (about half an hour) then they were playing and running around. Then it was on to see new people and start the whole process over again! But we were there for over an hour (during the lunch hour) so I hope that we didn't out stay our welcome. It was great to see Melissa before she left for her new job. And it was great to see everyone else along with the new office space.

Once we were done at Shinn Fu it was off to Nana's work place! We stopped and got her some lunch (getting extra for the kids, because even though they had already ate I knew they would try and steal some of Nana's!) Again the kids ran around and we a little noisy but all in all they were good.

Luckily both fell asleep on the way home so they had about a 40 minute nap today! Which helped Emma since she did not have one yesterday! Hopefully tomorrow will be another good day!

Let's play soccer!

Colin is in love with the new soccer net! We are working on sharing though! He is not really into sharing his soccer ball with Emma though so today we got her a smaller one that is pink so that she would have her own! Both played outside all afternoon! It was a great day! I hope the rain stays away tomorrow as well!

What a great day!

Today was a great day outside so we took advantage of it! Colin got a new soccer goal so he played with it while Emma was in the swing. Both had a great time! Nana was here to play with us as well! Colin has a nice tan going now since we were outside so much today! Tomorrow is supposed to be another great day so I hope that we can spend more time outside tomorrow!

Long weekends are hard

Long weekends are so hard simply because they get us out of our normal routine. Yes, I admit it for as unorganized as I am at times I like routine. I like knowing what to expect. So Thursday was Rich's birthday so he took Thursday and Friday off. The plan was for him to take Alex's car to Maryville Thursday morning and the kids and I would come up Thursday afternoon or Friday morning after I had gotten a chance to do some laundry and other things. Things never go as planed when other people make the plans!

Alex's car wouldn't start because the relatively new battery in it was dead so Rich had to go exchange it for a new one. Then I decided it was probably just better if the kids and I followed him to Maryville instead of coming up later, because I would have been unhappy if he had called and said he was in like St. Joe and the car died and we needed to come get him. The kids and I don't do well to hurry like that. So I threw some things in a bag for the kids and I and off we went to Maryville.

Now, I'm not really sure what it is about the farm that Emma has issues with but she got sick again while we were up there (okay I really think it all has to do with her teething). So Colin got to stay with Nana and Pa (in the city) and Rich and I brought Emma home cause she was sick.

Poor thing was hot as could be and then she just sat up straight in bed and threw up everywhere. She made a whimper and laid back down. She spent half of Friday night in bed with Rich and the other half in bed with me. At least we each got some sleep!

But at least we had managed to get Alex's car fixed so that it will be ready for him when he comes home from Iraq, that is if Colin will let him have it! Colin did get to ride in it all the way back from Maryville to Liberty and is in love with it now! So good luck to Alex in getting it back cause Colin already said he wants to keep it!

I had planned to go to some garage sales Saturday morning, but didn't get around to it until early afternoon and took Emma just so she could get out of the house and well she fell asleep in the truck while I was driving around.

So here is my gripe about garage sales. Why do people put things out front by the street then when you get out to look they have a small sign on them that says "not for sale". If it is not for sale then don't put it out by the road!! Geesh want to talk about one pissed off little girl, Emma screamed for 5 minutes because we stopped at one sale because the had one of those 2 seat jeeps for little kids in pink at this sale, we get out and it has a sign on it! What the heck! She really wanted it to! Her little eyes just lit up the minute she spotted it! It was like all of her sickness just went away, then when I saw the sign and had to tell her she just started screaming and crying and reaching for it. Now you know why I hate going to garage sales and why I hate doing it even more with the kids! They can just go with Nana from now on!

I hope that Emma will be better tomorrow so that she will want to go with me to pick up Colin from Nana and Pa's but we will have to see!
