Brothers and Sisters

Sometimes they do not get along at all! But other times they are great to each other. Today while playing outside every time Colin would fall down (most of the time on purpose) Emma would go running to help him up! Then Colin would go to the top of the tree house and yell "Emma, Emma, Emma" and when she would turn around he would finish with "I love you". Of course they would both scream and yell when when I would tell them it was time to come inside.
Tonight before bedtime they even shared some ice cream.

Voting Day

Colin was all excited to go with me to vote, of course I finally figured out that he heard me wrong, he thought we were going to get a boat! But none the less Colin and Emma went with me to vote today and they both got "I Voted In Johnson County Stickers". The poll workers are great, they entertained the kids while I voted! There were 4 workers there and then the kids and I so I think they were just happy to see people!! To make up for the misunderstanding Colin had with the word vote and boat I took the kids to the park for a while before we went home and they loved it.

They also played in the backyard for a while today as well.

The perfect toy

It is so hard to find the perfect toy . . .today I was looking for Emma's Easter gift and we had decided on a trike. I found the perfect one online (it was sold out online) so we spent the day going from store to store to find it. We went to Toys 'R Us in Olathe and they didn't have it, but the made a call and the Independence one did. So I loaded both kids up and we headed across town. We get there and it is the wrong stinking one! But I had drove all the way across town so I got it so I didn't feel like it was a complete waste (yeah, I know my mind is a little strange) because we could at least return it at the Olathe store if we didn't find the right one in time.

This is what we are looking for:So if you see it let me know!!! I think Emma would just love it, especially since there is a place for her puppy to ride!

But Emma did find something else that she liked while we were out:

Both kids were really good while we were driving all over the city looking for the trike, but it was just to much for Colin in the end. This is how I found him sleeping!

Coming home from Nana's

Emma is ready to come home as soon as I get to the door, but Colin is another story! At 9:30 at night he is still crying that he wants Nanny. If he is still this way tomorrow we are going to have to go back over and spend another night at Nana's house! Emma was in bed but is now back up eating popcorn with Rich and hopefully she will go to bed after that!

But Colin is excited about the Easter Bunny coming! He can't wait. Of course I have told him that he has to clean his room and keep the toys picked up or the Easter Bunny won't be able to find him and bring him his Easter basket! He is going along with it so it is great!

A day without kids

So Colin and Emma are at Nana's for the day so Rich and I had plenty of time to get the branches picked up out of the backyard and hauled off with the help of Pa today. Now the kids will be able to play in the backyard again as long as the weather is nice. Hope that they appreciate all the work that was done to get those picked up for them. Was very glad to hear from Nana that they were both being good today and both had taken a nap . . . wish they would do that for me!!

Over the river and through the woods

it's off to grandmother's house we go! Yay for me!!!! Both kids went to Nana's for the weekend! Now I have time to clean their super mess and re-arrange Emma's room so that there are no accidents with the changing table now that she has learned to climb on it! We had several places to go today and both were pretty well behaved all day! We even got new shoes! Note to self do not let Colin pick his own shoes anymore!!!! $70 for little boy shoes!! You have got to be kidding me, but that is what they cost!! If they hadn't been the only red shoes in the store with the balls he would not have been getting them. But at least we got them a size bigger so that they will last him through summer!

Big brothers are great . . . sometimes

Big brothers are great, they help to comfort you when you are sad, they give you someone to play with and they teach you new things. Colin taught Emma something new today . . . he taught her how to climb up onto the bed and then use that as a step to get up onto the changing table. Mommy was not very pleased about this. Now I am going to have to rearrange Emma's room so that this is not possible anymore.
